It doesn't chat or code — it does one thing to extremes: turn a sentence into an image with cinematic feel, texture, and mood. - Generate: type a description at midjourney.com/imagine; V8.1 returns a 2×2 grid in about 4 seconds. For tighter adherence flip on Raw mode; for 2K hi-res enable HD (1.3 GPU min vs 0.8 for SD).
- Tune: use web sliders for aspect ratio / stylize, or append --ar 4:5 --s 200 to the prompt. V8.1 takes natural language — stop spamming keywords.

Midjourney is the "image" half of our stack — posters, concepts, mood boards, the visual anchor for client pitches; its aesthetic is genuinely best-in-class. V8.1's shift to natural language lowered the barrier, but doing it well still means knowing composition, light, and material — not just typing a sentence. Its biggest weakness is just as real: text in images breaks, cross-shot consistency is luck, so we still finish deliverables in PS. Our advice to designers: treat it as the "visual inspiration + pre-final draft" workhorse, hand precise production to PS / Jimeng video, and don't expect one stop to do it all.
